One challenge facing family businesses is connecting with local professional business advisors, from all fields, who have the background to understand the unique dynamics of family business, as well as the experience to guide their business to long-term success.

As a result, CFFB invites professional family business advisors to attend our monthly breakfast seminars with a family business client. It is through these specific and targeted educational opportunities that we wish to enhance the professional relationship between advisors and business families. We believe that through collective learning, your entire organization will gain the knowledge and insight that is required to immediately apply thought-provoking information, motivating ideas and practical skills.

Are you a professional advisor with a background in family business?

Become a CFFB Advisor! Apply to be included in our online Advisor Directory, a guide for families to locate professional resources and assistance specific to the unique dynamics of their family business.

While inclusion in the directory does not mean CFFB endorsement, application and approval to become an Advisor must include the following:

• provide two letters of reference from family business clients endorsing the support you provided in a specific area(s) of their family and/or their business.
  
  
• commit to attending at least one breakfast seminar per program year, running September to May, for every year you wish to remain included in the directory.
  
  
• act as an ambassador of CFFB by introducing and accompanying new and existing clients to Centre events.
  
  
• submit an annual listing fee of $750
  
  

Advisors can join the Directory at any time. Advisors are reviewed on an annual basis by the CFFB Board of Directors: Sponsorship Committee.

Before accessing the online Advisor Directory, viewers will be asked to agree to a standard legal disclaimer, stating that CFFB is not responsible for the services provided by the listed representatives.

Your $750 annual Advisor fee includes:

Participation Opportunities

Monthly Breakfast Seminars - As an Advisor you are required to attend at least one breakfast seminar per program year with a family business client. CFFB Advisor registration fee $85 each.

Skill Workshops - Participation in our workshops may be used towards collecting continuing education credits in your specific industry. Ask us to look into this for you and request a certificate of completion. CFFB Advisors receive discounted registrations.

Advisor Roundtable Groups - In this confidential forum, issues and successes are shared with other family business advisors. Learn more about Roundtables at our information sessions in September and January. Exclusive to CFFB Advisors and Corporate Partner Representatives, additional $600.

Promotion and Resources

Online Advisor Directory Listing www.cffb.ca/advisordirectory - Profile your services and expertise to the family business community, include an in-depth 'web-searchable' description, letters of endorsement, contact information, a link to your website, plus your picture and company logo.

Networking - CFFB offers a comfortable and no-pressure environment to learn together and make connections. Participate in permission-based Member-to-Member email announcements (subject to Board approval); highlight a new product or service, open house, news and events that provide value to our Members. Member-to-Member email announcements are distributed with great consideration and respect for our members. Additional $500 per announcement for CFFB Advisors.

Advertise in next year's Family Business Brochure - Distributed to all sectors of the family business community, this calendar of events is geared towards providing value to the Waterloo Region and surrounding area, and welcomes and encourages the participation of those located throughout all of Ontario.
